How Vibe-Verse Phonics protects student privacy and complies with COPPA in your classroom.
Last updated: April 12, 2026
Students access the Vibe-Verse Phonics game exclusively through anonymous codes generated by their teacher. No student account creation is required. No names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information (PII) is collected from students.
The process is simple:
The free tutorial game can also be played by clicking "I'm a Student — Play Now" without entering any information whatsoever.
None.
We do not collect any personally identifiable information from students. Specifically:
In-game phonics reports are generated and displayed in the browser only. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Under COPPA's school exception (16 CFR § 312.5(c)(4)), schools and teachers may act as the parent's agent and provide consent on behalf of parents for the collection of student personal information — but only for educational purposes.
In practice, Vibe-Verse Phonics does not collect any student personal information, so direct parental consent is not required. However, we honor the school consent model as a best practice:
If your school requires a data processing agreement or vendor review, please contact us at support@vibeverseedu.com.
As a parent or guardian, you have the following rights under COPPA:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at:

We will respond to all parental requests within 30 days.
Student game sessions create no persistent records on our servers.
We retain data only for the specific purpose for which it was collected, consistent with the FTC's 2025 COPPA Rule amendments regarding data minimization and retention.
Student game sessions do not interact with any third-party services:
The only third-party service used on the platform is Google Firebase, which provides authentication and database services for adult teacher accounts only. Firebase does not process any student data. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
Vibe-Verse Phonics collects no student education records as defined by FERPA (20 U.S.C. § 1232g). Phonics reports generated during gameplay are displayed in-browser only and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
If a teacher chooses to print a phonics report and associate it with a student, that printed document becomes part of the teacher's own records and is governed by their school's FERPA policies — not ours.
Anonymous student access codes contain no student personal information. The code-to-student mapping is maintained by the teacher off-platform.
